ZOE - Bring the Life of God into South Albany Through Educational Programs

HISTORY OF CLUB ZOE, INC.

The organization that is now Club Zoe actually started in 2001 when several youth from the South End of Albany began attending the Friday night youth group at Reigning Life Family Church.  The group grew from fifteen to over 100 children in a matter of months.  The church realized it had to either shut the group down, or make a place for the children in its building.  In 2003, it received a Healthy Heart grant from the New York State Department of Health for professional basketball goals, recreation equipment, and kitchen equipment.  The facility was named The Dream Club, and began to develop other programs such as Boy Scouts, an after-school program, and formal tutoring services for the kids.  The Dream Club was incorporated in 2005, underwent a formal name change to Club Zoe, Inc. in 2006, and then received its (501)(C)(3) tax exempt status as a public charity in September 2007.  Club Zoe currently serves over 500 at-risk children and youth annually through one or more of its programs.
